    Sylvia,
    I meant to reply to your previous comment, that it is the Holly Blue that we have in Europe. So, you have it too in China! You seem to have a lot of European species there. I guess the weather must be quite similar.

      It is interesting how many European species are also in China. Here in Yunnan, we have some of those, and then we also have the common Southeast Asian butterflies. It’s a real range…we have the beginning of the Himalayas all the way down to very tropical…quite a range. I really need to order a book on European butterflies so I can get a feel how many overlap. Do you have a good recommendation for a general European Butterflies Guide book?

        Hi Sylvia,
        Yes! It is the Collins Butterfly Guide, by Tom Tolman and Richard Lewington. Perfect for seeing what occurs here and great illustrations, just a bit limited on the information it gives, but that isn’t really an issue for you. It is always great fun to read through butterfly guides, especially when some of the butterflies occur where you are.
