Hello, I live in LA and have been working on a book about LA’s butterflies and Skippers. Historically, the Cobweb Skipper has been recorded in LA, but it has been over 25 yrs since anyone has seen one here. I would like to get some pictures and study this skipper’s habits. Tyler TX is within driving distance and I would be willing to drive up there if I could get some specifics like exactly when and where you saw the ones in your pictures (like the the name of the location if a park, WMA, etc.) and the nearby road and/or landmark so I can see if our group of butterfliers (several in Shreveport) want to go with me to look for some (it would be a lifer for all of us). Thank you for any help you can give.

Sorry I’ve been slow to respond. We had a family medical situation that required my attention. I took these particular shots, as well as most of the Tyler photos in my Mom’s garden, other’s around the lake in her subdivision. Sadly, a developer cut down a lot of the wild flowers that were attracting the butterflies near the lake forest and my mom has sold her house and moved. But the Lake is the small lake just above Pleasant Acres Lake in Chapel Hill. The Subdivision is a gated community, but there are some roads, paths you can walk near there.
